Widseth Smith Nolting, Inc. has announced that KBM, Inc. has joined the WSN team. The firms have been collaborating on projects for nearly two years, offering comprehensive services to a growing client base in the Grand Forks area and throughout North Dakota. The two firms made it official on Monday, June 6.
Founded in 1952, KBM is a well-established consulting engineering and aerial photogrammetric mapping firm with clients located throughout the continental United States and Canada. The firm’s 13 employees will remain in place continuing to serve their clients as members of the WSN team. Joining WSN as shareholders/vice presidents are Terry Keeton, Allan Page, and Jason Zilka.
The newly formed KBM Geospatial, LLC will continue to provide aerial photogrammetry, LiDAR, and mapping services as a subsidiary of WSN.
With the merger, the firms’ clients will have access to a broader set of services. KBM’s electrical engineering team adds their expertise in system planning, control, and protection engineering and construction management for low, medium, and high voltage distribution systems. The firm’s civil engineering and land surveying services complement and expand WSN’s resources.
Regarding the merger, WSN’s regional office manager Greg Boppre said, “This is a great opportunity for everyone involved. We can now offer our clients an even deeper range of services from a single source.”
Keeton added, “We’re very excited about joining WSN. We have worked with the professionals at WSN, and we share similar philosophies in how we address clients’ needs. Combining forces was a natural step for both firms. We’re intrigued by the possibilities for the future.”
