ROCHESTER AREA FOUNDATION LAUNCHES SEARCH FOR PRESIDENT
ROCHESTER, MN (January 17, 2017) –  The Rochester Area Foundation (RAF), whose mission is to build and enhance the quality of life in the greater Rochester area through philanthropic leadership and community partnerships, is announcing the search has begun for their next President. The position profile is posted on the RAF website at www.rochesterarea.org/learn/about-us/employment.php

The Presidential Search will be managed by a search committee co-chaired by Wendy Shannon, chair of the RAF Board of Trustees, and Dr. Hugh Smith, past-chair of the Board of Trustees. Other members of the search committee include Mark Utz (RAF Board First Vice-Chair), Greg Layton (RAF Board Second Vice-Chair), Brad Schmidt (RAF Board Treasurer), Barbara Jordan (RAF Board Secretary), Denise Kelly, Don Supalla, Walt Ling, Jose Rivas, Paul Fleissner, Dr. Kathryn Lombardo, and Karel Weigel (RAF Interim President).

“Since 1944, the Rochester Area Foundation has been the beneficiary of visionary leadership, both from volunteer board and committee members, as well as Executive Staff, led by the President. I’m confident that our thorough search process will identify candidates that are prepared to continue that tradition,” said Dr. Smith.

Wendy Shannon added that, “The search committee is dedicated to ensuring that the next President’s leadership builds upon the 75-year legacy of the Rochester Area Foundation, and brings bold vision to our future.”

Karel Weigel, who was selected as the Interim President following the departure of JoAnn Stormer, will remain in that role until the President is selected.
