(Rochester, MN) Girl Scouts River Valleys is offering the Rochester community, female leaders, and any adventurous individuals the opportunity to participate in an urban rappel 9 stories or 119 ft down the US Bank Building in downtown Rochester, MN. This ultimate urban adventure will raise money for Camp Edith Mayo and Program Center in Rochester and support girl leadership and empowerment.
Over the Edge—a certified special events company—will assist rappellers the entire way down. No prior rappelling experience is required!
Rochester Community Fearless Leaders for Girls
Girl Scouts River Valleys knows the difference it makes in the lives of a girl when there are caring adults present—mentoring, guiding and helping them grow into leaders. Participants are showing they are the fearless leaders that girls need by going Over the Edge for girl empowerment:

BACKGROUND: Over the Edge
Over the Edge is a special events company that provides signature events for non-profit organizations throughout the United States and Canada, with emerging markets in Central and South America, along with other parts of the world. Participants raise donations for a non-profit in exchange for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rappel Over the Edge of a local high-rise building. With over 500 successful events and more than 25,000 Edgers, Over the Edge continues with the mission to help raise $50 million in 10 years for nonprofits throughout North America.

Thursday, June 9th, 2016 at the US Bank Building in downtown Rochester
A media day and VIP reception will occur June 8th with special guest rappellers
Rappelling will occur at the Thursdays on First Summer Market and Music Festival.
All proceeds from the Over the Edge event directly support River Valleys’ initiative to reinvest in Rochester’s Camp Edith Mayo and Program Center to better serve the growing needs of girls in central and southern Minnesota.
SIGN UP: Become an “Edger”
· There is no experience or prior training needed in order to register.
· Anyone fearless enough and able to raise a minimum of $1,000 can rappel.
· There are many ways to participate:
Individual Rappel, Partner Rappel or band together with your coworkers and Toss your Boss
· Participants must weigh between 110 and 300 pounds and be at least 18 years old.
· The 76 Edger spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis until the event is full.
