RCTC To Award Workforce Development Scholarships
RCTC TO AWARD WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
(Rochester, MN) Rochester Community and Technical College is excited to announce its participation in Minnesota State’s Workforce Development Scholarship program.
In 2017 the state legislature created the Workforce Development Scholarship program and appropriated $1 million in FY2019 to Minnesota State to encourage students to enroll in high demand programs at all state colleges. Minnesota State will pilot the scholarship program, awarding $2,500 scholarships to 400 new students in 2018 – 2019.
RCTC has been granted $35,000 to award approximately 14 students enrolling in specific high-demand program areas in the fall of 2018. The full list of eligible programs is available at the http://www.rctc.edu/financialaid/.
The application portal is open through February 16, 2018.
Scholarship criteria:
•Students must be admitted to RCTC as a regular student for Fall 2018. To apply, visit
http://www.rctc.edu/admissions/html/application_form.html.
•Students must be majoring in the high demand areas of Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture,
Healthcare Services or Information Technology. A full list of eligible majors can be found at
http://www.rctc.edu/financialaid/.
•Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
•Scholarships ($2,500) will be released in two payments (Fall and Spring). Students in one-term
programs will receive an award of $1,250 for fall semester only.
•Students must enroll in at least 9 credits each semester to be eligible for the scholarship
disbursement.
