RAF Responds to SOS With Generosity!
ROCHESTER, MN--The Official Love Community Organization has been awarded a $2500 grant from the Rochester Area Foundation. These funds will support our Save Our Sports (SOS) Initiative.
Our SOS Initiative is rooted in changing the culture of youth sports and on a larger scale our society. We will execute our mission and vision while meeting a vital need in the Rochester community. The awarded funds will assist in our efforts to recruit a diverse group of new officials, provide proper training to new and current officials, develop them through ongoing support and mentoring, and retain sports officials in our community to sustain and grow opportunities for youth participants. We will provide members with safe, high-quality equipment and supplies, assist in registration and administrative requirements, and help navigate learning and game management to further remove barriers and improve the experience.
Official Love Board Founder and President Mr. Loving excitedly states “We are so grateful for the support and generosity of others. Our community cannot and will not succeed without helping each other.”
The Rochester Area Foundation awards biannual grants through a competitive application and review process from the community endowment, the Better Communities Fund, with support from private funds held at the Rochester Area Foundation. Jeremy Emmi, Community Impact Officer at Rochester Area Foundation added, “Official Love is helping to provide much-needed sports officials for our community, and they are committed to supporting and bettering the character of the individuals involved. We are proud to provide grant funding to their Save Our Sports Initiative.”
