Ann Beatty, a Y member and President of the Y’s board of directors shared, “I’ve seen the many signs and changes of continued growth our community has experienced these past many years.  I’m excited about all that is happening here yet today, and the great potential of what’s to come.  And like so many others, I continue to dream of a bright and exciting future for our Y.”

The message that demonstrates the mission of the Y was continued on throughout the meeting.  Ann continued, “Without a doubt, we are an inclusive place where all community members are invited to participate and all are welcome to belong, regardless of race, gender, age, or economic abilities.  The Y is where community leadership develops, where everyone’s health is improved and where lifelong friendships blossom.”

Pasquale Presa, owner of Pasquale’s Neighborhood Pizza, and several other individuals shared their Y stories in person and through a video that showed the passion, connections and importance of the Y for this community.  Programs that featured mentorship opportunities, classes and activities for youth and families and also the senior population were part of the presentations by guests.  Group fitness instructor for 25 years, Lisa Nordman said, “It is those members (that she teaches) and the Y’s mission that keeps me motivated to continue to be part of the Y.  The Y is a family for participants.”
