Motorola Dealer ANCOM Communications, Inc. Acquires Rochester-Based Whitewater Wireless to Expand Two-Way Radio Presence in Southeastern Minnesota and Western Wisconsin

BURNSVILLE, Minn. (August 4, 2016) — ANCOM Communications Inc., a sales, service and rental dealer of Motorola two-way  radio communication solutions, announces the acquisition of Rochester-based Whitewater Wireless, Inc. and the opening of a new office facility in Rochester.  The purchase, completed on July 1, joined two Motorola Channel Partners to offer a stronger team presence throughout south-eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.  Terms were not disclosed.

“This transaction was mutually beneficial for both organizations, allowing ANCOM to expand its reach to customers outside the Twin Cities metro area while helping four of the six Whitewater partners to make a natural exit into retirement,” said David Anderson, ANCOM’s president.  “Our larger pool of expertise and closer proximity to customers allows us to better serve Rochester and the surrounding region, especially mission-critical public safety departments,” he said.

Two remaining Whitewater partners, Rollie Frank and Lee Smith, continue to work in the new branch office in sales and contracts.  Along with the other former Whitewater employees who have joined ANCOM, the combined organization has 40 employees.

ANCOM’s Rochester office is currently working out of the former Whitewater Wireless location at 1929 2nd Street NW.  A new office location is planned to open this fall at 4871 19th Street NW.  Any business where two-way communications are vital can benefit from ANCOM’s product and service offerings.  Besides public safety entities, other market users in need of increased safety, security and efficiency include healthcare, education, transportation, utility, construction, manufacturing, agriculture, retail, service and hospitality.

Since 1991, ANCOM Communications Inc. has provided two-way radio expertise to the Midwest area.  ANCOM’s portfolio has expanded to include the sale and service of complete systems of various complexities, including those for large campuses or wide-area coverage requirements involving multiple locations.  ANCOM’s certified technicians implement and maintain all products sold and offer support plans tailored to customer needs.

ANCOM also offers rental radio and accessory options for all types of events such as sports management, fairs, festivals, conventions, schools, film production and music promotion, in addition to construction and petro chemical industries and more.
