PeopleFirst HR Solutions Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary, Announces New Board Officers.

PeopleFirst HR Solutions is proud to announce its ten year business anniversary.  Founded in late 2006, PeopleFirst is a Human Resources Consulting firm headquartered in downtown La Crosse, with partners and expert affiliates serving Minnesota, Wisconsin and northern Iowa. In February of this year, PeopleFirst announced appointment of new officers to its board of directors. Recent appointments include: Genelle Groh Beck appointed as Chair of the Board, Mary Hericks appointed as President, and Marlin Helgeson appointed as Secretary/Treasurer.
 
Genelle leads PeopleFirst’s efforts in the SE Minnesota region.  She has a Master’s degree in Management and over 25 years of HR leadership experience in global, national, and local organizations, many of those years in manufacturing and higher education.  In addition to her managing partner role with PeopleFirst, Genelle continues to teach part-time as an adjunct faculty member for Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota’s Master’s in HR program.  She has also been a member of non-profit boards for 18 years, currently serving on the Cotter Schools board. She has held several executive level board positions, including Chair of the Board for the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce.

As one of the founding partners of PeopleFirst, Mary has over a dozen years’ experience as a career transition coach/human resources consulting.  Her background includes 20+ years in human resources management in durable goods manufacturing, serving in HR roles at Allied-Signal and the L. B. White Company.  A La Crosse area native, Mary holds her MBA from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.

Marlin has more than 35 years of experience as a Human Resources professional including positions at the corporate, sector and local level. His background includes serving as a HR Business Partner for various global functional groups, designing and administering employee benefit plans including health and productivity initiatives, acquisitions, mergers, staffing, retention, employee engagement, project coordination, payroll, compensation planning, performance management, organizational  leadership reviews, employee recognition, policy formulation, human resources information systems and various human resources organization effectiveness initiatives.  Marlin attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.   He is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS).  Marlin is a member of the International Society of Employee Benefits Specialists.
