Dahl Dance Center is very excited to introduce two, new professional dancers to the Rochester community. We welcome Meg McClure and Joseph Carey to our team. Meg McClure started ballroom dancing as a first year at Luther College. After several years of gymnastics she had decided to try something new and different, not knowing that dance would become her new passion. She participated in collegiate competitions for four years while serving on the board of the Luther College Ballroom/Swing Club. She dedicated her time there to teaching and assisting her teammates and was thrilled to see them improve under her guidance. When not competing she enjoys social dancing and meeting new people in the process. Joseph joins the DDC team ten years after taking his first ballroom class with April in 2005. He continued dancing in the intervening time, introducing dance to others along the way. In 2009 while attending Luther College, he founded Luther Ballroom/Swing, a social and competitive group that remains one of the largest and best-run student organizations there. In 2013 he founded a similar organization, UNI Ballroom/Swing, at the University of Northern Iowa while completing his graduate work. Both organizations provide free lessons to hundreds of students each year and train dozens of competitive dancers to compete at midwestern competitions. He is passionate about introducing new people to dance, dance pedagogy, and west coast swing. When he isn’t dancing, he enjoys composing, cooking, growing things, reading, and travel.
Meg and Joseph are currently available for booking  private and group instruction and you can watch for them around town as they dance into Rochester!
