National Eagle Center hosting Bald Eagle Days on the Lake cruises in June
Wabasha, MN – As part of their annual Bald Eagle Days celebration in June, the National Eagle Center will host a pair of interpretive cruises on Lake Pepin. The On the Lake cruises will take place on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd aboard the Pearl of the Lake paddleboat in Lake City, MN.
Similar to the Center’s popular eagle viewing field trips, the two-hour On the Lake cruises will serve as a floating classroom for guests. Each cruise will feature a naturalist program that talks about bald eagles, observed wildlife as well as Lake Pepin and its importance as critical wildlife habitat.
“Our eagle viewing field trips are very popular and these cruises are the first time the National Eagle Center has hosted this type of river-based experience”, said Marketing Manager, Ed Hahn. “We’re very excited for these cruises and grateful for the enthusiastic partnership of the Pearl of the Lake. On the Lake will be a truly enjoyable summer outing for our guests.”
Cruises will run from 3:30pm to 5:30pm both days, with boarding beginning at 3pm at The Lakehouse restaurant dock in Lake City. Seats are $30 for National Eagle Center members and $40 for non-members. Refreshments will be available for purchase during the cruises.
“We’re seeing a lot of interest in the cruises and seats are filling up quickly”, said Hahn. “We’re anticipating that both trips will sell out.”
