Safety is one of our core values at LVC and can be seen in many of our daily practices and ongoing initiatives.  For us safety includes on the job training, industry involvement, a weekly education program, staff accountability and tracking and reporting safety results.  Our commitment is to protect our workforce by reducing dangerous situations, increasing education, and staying alert to safe workplace practices.

All LVC employee’s complete mandatory safety training as required by the states we operate in and as governed by OSHA.  It is common for LVC employees to attend job site safety training with the start of each project to better understand the requirements we must meet at each location.  In addition to the individual training of employee’s, workplace safety issues are reviewed, analyzed and improved upon at our monthly safety meetings.  Quarterly meetings are attended by a diverse cross sampling of field employees, office employees and management.

At LVC, safety is everyone’s responsibility.  Our entire company participates in the JATC Toolbox Talk training program which includes weekly training topics to keep safety awareness front of mind.  We started the program in 2012 and tripled the active participation level in 2013.  Our goal is 100% participation. Additionally, our Service Manager sits on the safety committee that produces these toolbox talks in addition to other key safety efforts.

We don’t focus on safety for the accolades, although it's nice to be recognized.  Our Arizona office was recently named the winner on two national safety awards by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA); the first for Safety Excellence and the second for Zero Injuries.

According to their website, “NECA’s Safety Excellence and Zero Injury Awards program is an elite safety recognition program focused on recognizing thriving companies that excel in multiple areas of their safety and health programs. Awards are given to member companies that consistently have OSHA recordable injury and fatality rates at levels lower than the industry standard, and implement internal company safety practices above and beyond basic compliance. The Zero-Injury Award recognizes those member companies that have worked a full calendar year without recordable incidents.”

“ I am proud to be part of a company that places such emphasis on safety.” says Brian Gould, Branch Manager in Arizona.  “I am also proud of our team and their commitment to practicing safety every day.  Zero injuries is a big deal to us.”
