Alvin E. Benike, Inc. Selected to Renovate the Third Floor of The Historic Riverside Building for Winona State University – Rochester
Rochester, MN – August 22, 2016 – Alvin E. Benike, Inc., a fourth generation commercial construction company in southeastern Minnesota, announced that it has been selected by the owners of The Historic Riverside Building, to renovate the top floor to allow customized learning space for Winona State University (WSU) – Rochester.
“The expansion of Winona State into downtown Rochester is great for our community! We are very excited to see the continued success of WSU-Rochester at this property and in our community,” said Bucky Beeman of Realty Growth, Inc.
The project is located in Rochester at the southeast corner of South Broadway and Fourth Street SE. The scope of the project includes renovating the entire third level to allow for classrooms, offices, and collaboration spaces for WSU-Rochester.
“It’s exciting to work in The Historic Riverside Building once again! I was involved on the design side of the renovation for Holabird & Root that was completed in 2007 and now, almost ten years later, I have the same opportunity on the construction side. At Benike, we have a wonderful relationship with WSU in Winona and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to grow our relationship with WSU-Rochester,” said Travis Lange, Project Manager for Alvin E. Benike, Inc. In addition to Lange’s experience working in The Historic Riverside building, Alvin E. Benike, Inc. also completed the fit-up of the Cambria Gallery in 2014.
The architect on the project is Adam Ferrari of 9.SQUARE and the commercial leasing was handled by Bucky Beeman at Realty Growth, Inc. Construction is expected to start in fall of 2016 with an estimated completion date of December 2016.
