Adam Chandler named new Head Golf Professional at Somerby Golf Club

Byron, Minnesota (December 19, 2016) – Somerby Golf Club has announced the appointment of Adam Chandler as the new Head Golf Professional. Chandler was chosen after an extensive search with help from the PGA and OBSports, which included interviews with many highly qualified candidates from around the country.

“We are pleased to welcome Adam to our club and we know that he will be instrumental in teaching the game to our members and guests, directing pro shop operations and overseeing tournaments,” said General Manager Jason Stumpf. “Finding the right head golf professional to suit the character of a club is always a challenging task. We have no doubt Adam’s energy, enthusiasm and philosophy of customer service is second to none and are excited for the professionalism and skill set he brings to Somerby. We look forward to having our members get to know him.”

Chandler’s most recent position prior to joining Somerby Golf Club was that of PGA First Assistant at Hazeltine National Golf Club located in Chaska, MN, host of the 2016 Ryder Cup. Prior to Hazeltine, Chandler served as PGA First Assistant for Brackett’s Crossing Country Club in Lakeville, MN.  

“I am very excited to join the team at Somerby,” said Chandler. “This is an amazing facility with so much potential. I hope to help create an atmosphere that the members are proud to be a part of every day.”

Chandler’s other past club experience includes time as a PGA Assistant Golf Professional at The Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake, MN where he developed a junior golf program, increased junior rounds by 100%, and instructed more than 70 lessons/clinics. He also initiated and executed clinic programs for local businesses. Throughout several of his positions he has also served as the main liaison to the women’s programs, creating new and exciting events. "I am excited to help initiate growth and foster development through fun and exciting programs at Somerby Golf Club," said Chandler.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Stout, Chandler earned a B.S. in Golf Enterprise Management with a Minor in Business Administration.
