WILD Mentorship Workshop

Women in Leadership and Development presents WILD Mentorship, a learning series centralized on mentorship.

We have gone WILD about mentorship! Come join us for a panel discussion and interactive session about mentoring. Give input and learn from our three established panelists, and then speed network to meet others and share what you have to offer as a mentor, or what you stand to gain as a mentee.

Plus, stick around afterward for a casual happy hour to continue the conversation and networking!

Our panel will feature:

 Jeanine Gangeness

Jeanine E. Gangeness is the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Winona State University in southern Minnesota. She serves as the Chief Executive Officer responsible for managing the WSU-Rochester campus and the greater Rochester region and the Dean for the School of Graduate Studies for of WSU.

Prior to coming to Winona State University, Gangeness was the Founding Dean of the Bemidji School of Nursing, a joint venture of Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College. These institutions offered a full range of academic programs including custom business workshops, certificates, diplomas, associate degrees, baccalaureate degrees and master’s degrees.

She graduated from the University of North Dakota (’92, ’02, ’07) and holds a Master’s of Science degree, and PhD degree, all in nursing. Gangeness has presented extensively and published, all peer reviewed, in leadership, strategic planning, collaborative education programming, tobacco policy, case study design, built environments, and online nursing education.

Judge Christina Stevens

Christina Stevens is a District Court Judge in the Third Judicial District, chambered in Olmsted County. She was appointed in 2010 by Governor Tim Pawlenty, and elected in 2012. She earned her law degree in 1997 from Hamline University School of Law, and her undergraduate degree in 1995 from Minnesota State University, Moorhead.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, she was an attorney with Dunlap and Seeger in Rochester where she enjoyed a family law and mediation-based practice. She has served on a number of nonprofit boards within the community, including the Chosen Valley Community Foundation Board of Directors, Children’s Museum of Rochester, Rochester Habitat for Humanity, River Trails Girl Scout Council, and was a member of the 2009 Leadership Greater Rochester class, Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce.

As if she isn’t busy enough, she is mother to 3 growing and active boys who keep her on the go when not in court.

Barbara Jordan

Barbara Jordan is currently an Education Administrator at Mayo Clinic where she has worked for over 24 years. Currently she has a dual assignment with leadership responsibility for the Mayo Clinic Quality Academy and the College of Medicine Office for Diversity.  In her Quality Academy role, Barbara provides administrative leadership support for the Academy, which delivers quality improvement training for Mayo Clinic staff across the enterprise.  Her role in the Office for Diversity is in support of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine’s mission to support the Mayo Clinic practice by providing recruitment, retention and advancement activities which target students from backgrounds that are underrepresented in medicine, science and allied health fields.

Barbara has actively promoted diversity and inclusion via her professional and community roles for over 25 years, having served the community for over 8 years as chair of the board of the Rochester, Minnesota Diversity Council.  She has also led the Board of Directors for the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and serves on the boards of the Rochester Branch of the NAACP, the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester Board, the Girls Scouts of River Valleys and the Rochester Area Foundation.

Today, she leads the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the southeast Minnesota economic development program, Journey to Growth.  Barbara holds a BA degree in English from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and a Masters in Organizational Management from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
