Session Theme: Competition vs. Collaboration
Sometimes, it feels as though there are so few opportunities for women in leadership that we may unintentionally compete with each other instead of work together. The result is instead of lifting each other up, we may set up a win-lose scenario that prevents other women from being seen in their best light. However, when we adopt a mindset of collaboration, more women succeed. During this session, you will hear from Barb Kaus, CEO of Mankato United Way and how she has helped other women achieve their goals by collaborating instead of competing.
Barb Kaus has served as United Way's CEO since 2014. She is passionate about meeting the needs in the region and has a long history of corporate and volunteer leadership.
Before entering the nonprofit industry, Kaus was employed by Taylor Corp. in North Mankato for 36 years. She currently serves on the boards of directors for the Minnesota State University-Mankato Foundation and Children?s Museum of Southern Minnesota.
Kaus was born and raised in Mankato, and has experienced firsthand what a truly special region we live in. She enjoys working to ensure United Way carries out its mission of building a better tomorrow for all.
