Business After Hours (BAH) is Rochester's award-winning, networking event held at a different member's place of business each month. BAH, which won the RCVB’s Known for Networking award in 2007, brings together upwards of 250 businessmen and women for networking, door prizes, hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. For more 120 years, the Kahler name has been synonymous with hospitality in Rochester. In 1896, the Kahler family moved to this small agricultural community and received ownership of Rochester’s leading hotel. The Kahler’s ran a first-class hotel that was dubbed the Waldorf Astoria of Rochester.  In 1906, John Kahler opened a hotel focused on serving patients traveling to the growing Saint Mary’s Hospital and Mayo medical practice. It was instantly deemed one of the finest and most modernly furnished hotels in the state and the Midwest.
 
In November 1919, recognizing the long-standing relationship between John Kahler and the Mayo brothers, the Kahler Corporation entered into an agreement with Mayo Clinic that led to the opening of the Kahler Grand Hotel in September 1921. At its opening, the hotel offered upscale hotel services on six of its eleven floors. The other five floors were dedicated to Mayo Clinic hospital services, including three operating rooms and several laboratories.
 
95 years later, the Kahler Hospitality Group is excited to host a historic Business After Hours, celebrating the 150^th anniversary of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce. The event will take place in the Kahler Grand Hotel’s historic Elizabethan Ballroom.
